TYPES OF HEART MUSCLES
The main types of heart disease are grouped as follows
Coronary Heart Disease: A failure in the coronary circulation to supply blood to the surrounding tissues of the heart can lead to a fatal condition generally referred to as coronary cardiopathy. This is not to be confused with the disease of the arteries caused by the accumulation of plaques within the artery walls.
Cardiomyopathy: The muscles of the heart are usually known as myocardium and the deterioration of the functioning of this muscle for any reason is known as cardiomyopathy. People suffering from this condition usually have the risk of suffering from arrhythmia or cardiac arrest.
Cardiovascular disease are a set of diseases that affect the heart itself but may also cause damage to the veins and arteries leading into or from the heart.
Ischemic heart disease occurs in the heart itself reducing the efficiency of the heart leading to reduction in the blood supply to the different organs.
Heart failure also known as Congestive heart failure or congestive cardiac failure impairs the ability of the ability if the heart to pump sufficient amount of blood through the body. This is usually because of structural or functional defects in the heart itself.
Hypertensive heart disease is usually caused by localized high blood pressure
Inflammatory heart disease is caused by the inflammation of heart muscle or tissue surrounding it due to viral or congenital effects.
Valvular cardiopathy affects any one or all of the valves of the heart leading to inefficient operation of the heart leading to premature failure or a host of other conditions.
